Current strength formats
Three 45-minute small-group classes are on the schedule now. Each one is coached start to finish, and every movement has a version that fits where you are today.
HGY Strength – Upper Body
Press, pull, and carry. Shoulders, back, chest, and arms, with accessory work to keep your shoulders healthy.
HGY Strength – Lower Body
Squat and hinge. Legs, glutes, and hips, built up set by set with dumbbells, kettlebells, and the barbell.
HGY Strength – Full Body
One session that covers all of it — a main lift, supporting movements, and core work to finish.
Strength classes are included in the $99/month Monthly Unlimited membership, alongside mat yoga, mat Pilates, and yoga sculpt.
What strength training at Homegrown is
Small coached groups, real weight, and someone watching your form the whole time. You work the same handful of movements that matter — squat, hinge, press, pull, carry — and you get stronger at them week over week. Homegrown was founded by a retired certified athletic trainer with a master's in exercise science, which is the reason we can put a barbell in the hands of someone who has never held one and have that be the safe choice.
Who it is for
Women who have never touched a barbell. People coming back from an injury. Members who have flowed for years and want to add load.
Nobody is too new, too stiff, or too anything. Same room, same welcome, every age.

What a session looks like
- 1
Warm-up
Ten minutes of getting your hips, shoulders, and spine ready to work.
- 2
Main lift
One big movement — squat, hinge, press, or pull — built up set by set.
- 3
Accessory work
Two or three supporting movements with dumbbells and kettlebells.
- 4
Finish
Core, breath, and a proper cool-down. You leave steady, not wrecked.

How it fits with yoga and Pilates
Strength is the third thing we do, not a replacement for the other two. Lifting builds the load your joints can handle, reformer Pilates sharpens the control you move it with, and yoga keeps the range of motion you need to keep lifting. Most members end up doing some of each in a week. If you are starting from scratch, read yoga for beginners and pick whichever room sounds kinder today.
